Reading is the best way to improve your own writing and worldbuilding skills! So why not take this August to up your worldbuilding game? We challenge you to read 9 articles submitted by different authors during Sumer Camp, and write about what you learned from them!   For full instructions, read on!   Claim your SUMMER CAMP WINNER certificate here!

How to Enter

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Make sure you have a World Anvil account (and you're logged in!).
  2. Create a Generic Article in your world. This will be your submission! You can start a little by writing about your Summer Camp experience, if you like, and maybe link in your pledge document (if you made one)!
  3. Pick 3 prompts from Summer Camp, and choose 3 articles written by Anvilites (other than yourself) from each prompt, for a total of 9 articles.
  4. Read each article and give it a like and a friendly comment with constructive feedback (pro tip: remember to mention something you liked).
  5. Finally, write down your new worldbuilding goals for the next half year. After all, you've just learned a lot from all that reading and writing, and probably made a lot of worldbuilding progress!
  6. Submit the generic article before August 26th! To do so, make sure the generic article is not a draft (i.e. published) and public (i.e. not private), then click the "Submit" button on the right of the article editor.
Remember: You don't have to have participated in Summer Camp to take part in the reading challenge!

Other Information

  • The article you submit needs to be at least 1000 words long. There's no maximum word count.
  • You may enter with more than 9 articles if you want to, but there are no extra badges beyond the participation one.
  • The article must be submitted before the closing time to be eligible, and it must be public and published.
  • Only one article may be submitted per person (this does not mean one article per world, in cases where multiple authors work on a single world).
  • As always, World Anvil claims no ownership over your original work.
