Teller
As a human, it is important to understand that an Intergalactic Banking Institute teller, is not some sort of mobile bank clerk.
While the universal translator will translate the title to "teller" a more accurate translation might be "spy" using the verb "to tell". This can lead to unfortunate misunderstandings, especially when the teller is sent for "asset retrieval."
A Lead Banker travels with at least one teller. When possible, they are attended by a teller with psychic abilities, often a captive Caballarian.
There are two levels of tellers: indentured and free agents. The indentured work closely with their banker. The free agents may range widely, collecting assets and deposits. For the Institute, this is normal banking behavior. Humans, however, would see these free agents as slavers and pirates. It turns out that definitions of words like asset (human entity vs money) and deposit (trafficking vs putting money in a vault) matter greatly.

An indentured teller needs only to have the needed psychic assistant skills.
Free agents need to have skills in asset valuation, retrieval, and transportation. They need to have an eye for when beneficial collection will provide needed profit or fulfil a debt. Since they will roam far from their Banker, they need to understand the Banker's wishes and be capable of following orders and improvising at the same time.
Career Progression
It is rare for an indentured teller to move up to become a free agent, although it has on occasion happened when a teller earns their freedom and decides to remain with the banker.
Free agents can be promoted to bankers if they demonstrate the needed insights into mathematics and valuation control.
Perception
Social Status
Tellers are universally treated with caution and respect by the general public.
Bankers, on the other hand, treat their tellers as anything from a hired servant to a respected colleague depending on their overall relationship.
